Travis Moore's philosophy is pure and simple- it all comes down to the locked concentration at the starting gate and the adrenaline racing when the checkered flag drops. That's when preparation becomes instinct and purpose takes form.

Getting to that point is ritualistic. This McKenzie, Tennessee native is an early riser. He works construction from 6:00 a.m. until noon when the process begins. He stretches, suits up, gases the quad and engages in a systematic inspection of his machine, (take pride– a racer lives and dies by his ride.) For the next five hours, Travis is in the zone, fine-tuning details, polishing technique and timing and working towards that elusive combination that will carry him to the pros. By 6:00 p.m., it's time to eat, exercise and ‘sling wrenches' until 11:00 p.m. when he turns in for the night. That's his day, and although Travis says he wouldn't change it for the world, we think he's working on it. As he perfects his technique and endurance we see Travis extending his practice time and number of races entered. After four years of riding quads, this year he's made it to the ATVA GNC Nationals and the WPSA ESPN2 National Tour.

But, he hasn't gotten this far without injuries. Last year in a Decatur, Texas National, after winning 2 nd in the 16-24 heat, and 2nd in Class A, Travis raced the final and a strong wind struck him broadside. He woke up back in Tennessee nursing a concussion. Undaunted, a few months later, in Starkville, Mississippi his motor blew in the World Motocross and he went face down over the table. The motor was ruined, hand guards and control levers crushed, but the KSA handlebars survived unscathed.

This year, Travis is hoping for fewer injuries in an expanded schedule. There will be ten WPSA ESPN races and twelve ATVA GNC Nationals (including 5 races in July- one each weekend- at tracks throughout New York and Pennsylvania). He began his season in March at Pell City, Alabama and he'll conclude on September 15 at a WPSA ESPN race in Fairfield County, South Carolina. But, the race he's anxiously awaiting is Loretta Lynn's Dirt Days near his home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee on August 11-12.

It's an aggressive schedule that's going to require strong will, stamina, and plenty of encouragement. He's made it this far with the support of his mom and dad, Mr. Burt Moody and a growing list of sponsors that include KSA Racing.

We, at KSA Racing wish Travis Moore the best of luck and support him in his quest. For more on Travis, check him out online at MySpace. com.
