Up here, in the northeast where KSA Racing is located, the season is winding down. There is still a good month of riding days up ahead but the 2007 race schedule has pretty much run it's course, (ouch! Not punny.) Check out the Arenacross in Albany, NY on November 11 and 12 for some end of season thrills. After that, we can only hope for global warming to extend our rides.

In a recent interview with our pal Larry Wooster, publisher of Western New York Moto-X Illustrated, he offered some insights on trends and standouts over this 2007 season. With the Loonie doing so well against the dollar and practice runs and tracks closing down up north, there has been a noticeable increase in attendance from our Canadian neighbors. "That started with the WMA par exchange a few years ago to make it easy for everyone," Larry adds. "Now with track and trail closings due to noise levels and development across the border, our tracks are close and affordable."

"The age level of riders is rising, too," he points out. "The Novice class is dwindling a little and more racers are competing in the 125 and 250 class. That could be due to the economy. Repairs and maintenance on those bikes is easier and cheaper."

Whether this is a long or short-term trend, he wouldn't speculate. He thanked KSA Racing for our support and looks forward to the January 26, 2007 WMA Banquet.
